This page is for Event Sanctioning required for any game or gala day, OTHER than a ACTJRU competition game, that involves a team from your club/school whether that game be local or interstate.

All proposed Events must be confirmed by both club/schools involved, prior to submitting this form, and have an electronic copy to substantiate (email correspondence should verification be required).

The submission of a Event Sanctioning request MUST be submitted no later than thirty (30) days prior to the fixture.

Once submitted, you will receive confirmation via email that your request has been processed.

The Event Organiser has a valid Certificate of Currency providing a minimum $20m public liability insurance appropriate to the event it is conducting.

Note: if the Event Organiser is an Affiliated Rugby Australia Body insured under Rugby AU National Insurance Plan public liability insurance is included in your cover. Please attach your certificate of currency as an affiliated Club or Union.

Participant Registration & Competition Management

All participants will be registered and pay fees through the prescribed Rugby Australia registration process?

The event will use the prescribed Rugby Australia Competition management system?


All referees to be utilised throughout the tournament will be suitably qualified for the age and standard of the matches they are appointed.

The persons listed below are authorised signatories of the Event Organiser, and warrant that all details provided within this application are true and correct. Signatories have read ‘Rugby Australia Event Sanctioning Guidelines’ regarding the event/tournament management and understand and comply with all regulations. By submitting this ronline equest, will act as the electronic signature on behalf of the organisation.

Sanctioning Approval

Sanctioning approval is provided on the basis of the information provided within this application is true and correct, special event insurance has been arranged, and all events, tournaments and matches must comply with, and be conducted in accordance with the laws, polices, regulations & guidelines of Rugby Australia & World Rugby.

Member Union Sanctioning Approval sign off

The State/Territory Union must provide, upon formal approval, a copy of the event sanctioning. application to Rugby Australia. Both the State/Territory Union and Rugby Australia will provide authorisation of the event is granted.

Application Lodgment

The Event Organiser is to forward the completed Event Sanctioning Application together with all attachments to the respective State/Territory Union or Rugby Australia, 30 days  prior to event.
