Play Rugby in the ACT & Southern NSW
Rugby Union is a global game for people of all ages, genders, sizes and abilities with a number of different formats on offer. ACT Junior Rugby Union offers competitions and representative pathways for children and youths aged Under 7 to Under 18 years of age.
Rugby Competitions and Programs
ACT Junior Rugby Union offers regular competitions typically played on a Saturday from May through to September. Younger age groups in the Under 7s to Under 9s play on a Friday night. We also facilitate a host of opportunities to try junior rugby or improve through programs and initiatives in clubs and schools throughout the year.
Players in junior age groups from Under 8s all the way through to Under 18s play to modified laws that are adapted to allow for progressive development of the player, making the game safer to ensure each player receives the greatest possible participation and enjoyment from playing the game of rugby.
The aim of the modified rugby game is to develop the individual skills, fitness and team work of all players in accordance with their physical maturity and understanding of the game.
Different formats of the game are available, from Rugby XVs (the traditional 15-a-side format), to Rugby 7s (played at the Olympics and through an annual World Series tournament) to modified 10-a-side and 12-a-side variations.

The Social Connectors
have developed a sports program to engage clients in therapeutic skill based activities.
These sports sessions are run by an Occupational Therapist, Speech Pathologist, Educator and Junior Rugby Coach.
We work with individual participants to set goals, whether this be to join a mainstream junior sporting team or to continue participating in The Social Connectors team.
Sense Rugby
is a rugby based Occupational Therapy program designed to help kids who usually find it difficult to be part of a sports team. There are many reasons why kids may struggle to find success and enjoyment in sport.
We are here to help you get to the bottom of it and send them on their way to success.
