Representative Rugby

An opportunity and pathway for junior rugby players in the ACT and Surrounding districts.

The ACTJRU provides an opportunity for players to compete at a Representative level across ages U12 through to U18, at levels suitable to player development and age groups.

Players commence representative level through their club’s district affiliation. Refer to our club directory for details of your clubs affiliation. As players progress through the age groups, representative opportunities extend to ACT, South Coast Monaro, SIRU and National levels.

REQUIREMENTS for Players wanting to trial for Representative teams. All players MUST:

  • be financially registered with either a club or school that is aligned with the ACTJRU prior to attending the trials;
  • abide by both the Rugby Australia and ACTJRU Codes of Conduct.

The trials will be a mix of skills, drills and games and will be undertaken over a number of sessions as listed. Training squads will be announced for further closed sessions and trials with the final teams of 23 announced in due course prior to any major competition.

It should be noted that while not mandatory to attend the trials it is strongly encouraged. Coaches have the discretion to invite or exclude any player from the training squads and final teams regardless if they have attended trials. A selection policy is in place which includes independent selectors to advise the selection of teams.

Managers will advise of any changes to the programs.
