Coaching is a great way to get involved in the game of rugby union. Whether you’re a parent of a junior player, a community member seeking to help or a youth looking at other ways to be part of your local club.
As a coach you become the heart and soul of a team who lean on you for guidance both on and off the field, so it is important to ensure you have the correct knowledge and accreditation to safely and confidently coach your team.
In addition to helping out a local club or school, representative pathways exist for coaches within the ACTJRU in the same way that they exist for aspiring players.
Smart Rugby
All coaches and match officials of the tackle game are required to hold a current Smart Rugby – Rugby Australia’s flagship course for building understanding of safety considerations both on and off the field.
ACTJRU has opportunities each year to coach its representative teams. For more information on coaching representative rugby with ACTJRU, visit our Representative Rugby page.
